Verb Tenses
Present tense – tells what is happening now.
Eg. Savitri loves her husband.
Past tense – tells about something that happened in the past.
Eg. Savitri loved her husband.
Future tense – tells about something that will happen in the future.
Eg. They will meet again when the war is over.
Present perfect tense – tells about something that happened at an indefinite time in the past. The present perfect tense consists of has or have + the past participle.
Eg. I have eaten already. He has eaten, too.
Past perfect tense – tells about something that happened before something else in the past. The past perfect tense consists of had + the past participle.
Eg. I had already eaten when they arrived.
